Mission Viejo, CA–On the morning of Friday, March 10th, 2017, several educators representing six institutions within the California Community Colleges convened in the newly-renovated Learning Resource Center at beautiful Saddleback College. There, guests were treated to a tour of the Learning Resource Center, which includes the library and tutorial services. There was also helpful dialog around challenges and solutions to issues within postsecondary tutoring and learning assistance. While the first part of the meeting was devoted to sharing and exploring challenges, the late morning was dedicated to discussing solutions to those problems by relying on the expertise and experience in the room. From tutor training to scheduling to ways to observe tutors for program effectiveness, many important topics were discussed and many solutions were shared among the group. In all, evaluations for the event were 100% positive, with one guest saying that the event was “very informative” and that they “can’t wait to attend more 3CSN workshops.”
